12/6 We have finished the novel and launched into our final project for the year., the book on social issues. Don't forget to prepare your portfolio for the 8th and to get your hour sheets signed and journals written for Thursday. Finals are next week so hang in there and keep up during the finishing tasks! 12/1 Okay, be sure to clear up any questions concerning your final draft of the grade level project before the 12th due date of the portfolio. This is your last chance to ensure a quality project that passes all criteria. Additionally, if you have not completed your volunteer hours, you should definitely be finishing those up with the associated journals. Plus, those thank you letters must be formally written so it would be a good idea to get those done early as well. Stay on track as we head into finals and the end of this course!

9/26 We will be reading and performing "Oedipus Rex" for the next several days in class. Try not to be absent as information can be missed when not present. 9/20 I am still working on returning rough drafts and you will all be getting them back by class when finished. Amazingly, we only have three more weeks before the end of the nine weeks! Be sure you are continuing to keep up with all tasks and don't forget to check with a peer when absent and get the make-up work done in a timely manner.

That means only one more week before progress reports! We will experiment with student- led discussion this week and tackle some literature from ancient civilizations.
